NEFC All-Division Teams Announced; Bambini Named as Boyd Offensive Player of the Year
MILTON, Mass. - The New England Football Conference (NEFC) has released its All-Division selections and annual awards for the 2012 season. Curry College senior wide receiver Rob Bambini (Westwood, Mass.) was named as Boyd Division Offensive Player of the Year.

In addition, Bambini joined the following teammates on the Boyd Division First Team: senior defensive back Rashad Sims (Beverly, Mass.), senior linebacker Jason Genece (Waltham, Mass.), junior defensive lineman Sam Calley (Weymouth, Mass.), junior quarterback Kevin Fruwirth (Agawam, Mass.) and sophomore fullback Jordan Shairs (Gloucester, Mass.). The Colonels lone representative on the Boyd Division Second Team was junior kick returner Richard Johnson (Framingham, Mass.).

Bambini missed the first two games of the 2012 campaign due to injury, but still managed to post remarkable statistics. In eight games, he reeled in 74 catches for 908 yards, including 14 touchdown receptions

He led the NEFC in receptions per game (9.25), receiving yards per game (113.5), and scoring (10.5 points per game). Nationally in those three categories, he ranked fourth, 13th and 15th, respectively.

Bambini shattered the school's previous career receiving records, amassing 210 receptions, 2,922 receiving yards, and 38 receiving touchdowns over four stellar seasons.
