MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated in both games of a Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader against Nichols College Monday afternoon at Jack Valley Baseball Diamond. With the losses, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 5-23 and a conference record of 0-8.

GAME ONE: Nichols 5, Curry 2

Curry broke the no-hitter in the bottom of the fifth when Erik Leonard (Dedham, Mass.) slapped a single to left field and Aidan Finnegan (Amsterdam, Netherlands) laid a perfect bunt down the third base line to put runners at first and second. With runners on the corners, Tino Gagliardi (Cromwell, Conn.) smacked a line drive single to left field to finally put the Colonels on the board, ending the inning with Curry trailing 2-1.

It only took Tommy Marshall (Hanson, Mass.) one swing to tie the game up in the bottom of the sixth as the junior knocked a home run over the right field wall to end the inning with the score even at 2-2. Unfortunately for the Colonels, a three-run top of the seventh put the game out of reach for the home team.

Colman Dyer (Sterling, Mass.) pitched the whole game for the Colonels, allowing just five hits and three earned runs while striking out eight.

GAME TWO: Nichols 10, Curry 1

Drew Fagala (San Antonio, Texas c) led off game two with a single up the middle of the infield, while Leonard reached first after getting hit by a pitch later in the inning. Finnegan knocked a single to left field to drive in the only Curry run of the game.a

Curry College returns to action on Tuesday, April 23rd, in a home game against Roger Williams beginning at 3 p.m.
