WALTHAM, Mass. - Curry College Baseball took down non-conference opponent Lasell University 9-3 Thursday evening.
With the win, Curry improves to 12-19 overall this season.
The Colonels brought their bats to life in the top of the fourth inning with a three-run shot to left field from graduate student Jared Keller (Oxford, Conn.), batting in Tommy Marshall (Hanson, Mass.) and Jason Leonard (Dedham, Mass.). Junior outfielder Conor Hanlon (Beverly, Mass.) marked another run for the Colonels in the top of the fourth, scoring on a fielder's choice.
Curry's graduate third baseman Keller tallied his second three-run home run of the evening in the top of the fifth immediately following a pitching change for the hosting Lasers, bringing the Colonels' score to 7-0. Curry catcher Joan Peralta (Brooklyn, N.Y.) pushed one more score into home with an RBI-double to left-center and tallied a run for himself on an Eric Sennott (Odessa, Fla.) ground out to the mound.
The Lasers marked their first runs in the bottom of the sixth on a three-run home run for themselves, closing in on the Curry lead.
Curry's defensive core held the Lasers back from any further scoring through regulation, taking the contest by a final score of 9-3.
