BIDDEFORD, Maine - Two Curry College winter student-athletes grabbed Commonwealth Coast Conference weekly awards in the final week of the regular season.
Graduate Reid Cooper (Corman Park, Saskatchewan) of the #6 men's ice hockey program was named the CCC's Goaltender of the Week, while freshman Lauren Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) of the women's basketball team was named CCC Rookie of the Week.
Stellar goaltending from Cooper led Curry to a sweep in the final weekend of the regular season and a bye into the CCC Semifinals. Cooper stopped 30 of 31 shots on Friday night in a 5-1 victory over Suffolk, before turning aside 33 of 35 in an enormous 3-2 win over #3 Endicott on Saturday.
Dunn averaged 14.5 points per game in the final week of her rookie season, helping Curry to a split with the University of New England and Wentworth. She opened the week with 17 points and six rebounds against UNE on Wednesday, before posting 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in a win over Wentworth on Saturday.
It is the second CCC Goaltender of the Week award this season for Cooper, while Dunn earns her fifth CCC Rookie of the Week Award.
