BIDDEFORD, Maine - Two Curry College student-athletes have received Rookie of the Week accolades from the Commonwealth Coast Conference.
Freshmen Gage Dill (Estero, Fla.) of the men's ice hockey team and Lauren Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) of the women's basketball team were each named CCC Rookie of the Week in their respective sports.
Dill netted a pair of power play goals on Friday evening in Curry's 4-3 win over Salve Regina University. He was the hero in overtime, scoring on a one-timer just 15 seconds into the extra session to lift Curry to the victory.
Dunn averaged 21.5 points per game this week to lead the Colonels. She started the week with 16 points against Gordon on Wednesday, before posting a career-high 27 points against Western New England on Saturday, which saw her go 5-for-8 from beyond the arc.
It is the third time Dill has been named CCC Rookie of the Week, and his first since January 3. Dunn earns her fourth CCC Rookie of the Week award on the season, all coming in the last five weeks.
