Quinn-Alger Leads Cross Country at the Pop Crowell Invitational at Gordon College

WENHAM, Mass.—The University of New England took home the team crown in the women's event at the annual Pop Crowell Invitational in the Gordon woods on Saturday morning.

UNE closed the women's race with 17 points to take home the hardware. Fellow Commonwealth Coast Conference team, Salve Regina, came in second place with 62 points and host Gordon rounded out the top three with a score of 104. Curry came in eighth place with a score of 205.

Curry was led by freshman ElizaMarie Quinn-Alger (Harwinton, Conn.) who placed 30th with a time of 22:06.  Quinn-Alger was followed by junior Leigha Sweeney (Braintree, Mass.) who placed 55th with a time of 23:40.  Following Sweeney were senior Jessica Leary (Pembroke, Mass.), 24:00 (61st), freshmen Victoria Gatley (Hanson, Mas.), 24:36 (74th) and Hannah Wells (Whitman, Mass.), 24:58 (82nd), sophomore Lydia Hixson (West Hartford, Conn.), 25:02 (83rd), and senior Victoria Norton (Fairfield, Conn.), 27:30 (110th). 

The Colonels next meet is on Saturday, October 11, at the James Earley Invitational @ Westfield State at 11:00 am.
