Women's Volleyball Swept by Wentworth

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's volleyball team suffered its first conference defeat of the season Thursday evening, falling to Wentworth Institute of Technology 3-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Katz Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-20, 25-18, 25-19.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 7-4 overall on the season and 1-1 in the CCC. Wentworth improves to 9-5 and 2-0 in the CCC.

Wentworth's Helen Barthe led all players with 11 kills in the victory, while also notching 12 digs. She was the only player to finish in double figures in either category.

Colonel seniors Lexi Pereira (Attleboro, Mass.) and Faith Herity (River Edge, N.J.) each posted four kills to pace Curry's offense. Herity also led the Curry defensive unit with eight digs. Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.) notched three service aces, three kills, and seven digs in the loss.

Curry will return to the hardwood on Saturday for a CCC matchup with Salve Regina on the road. First serve from Newport, R.I. is scheduled for 1 p.m.
