Women's Tennis Tripped Up by Roger Williams in CCC Opener

BRISTOL, R.I. - The Curry College women's tennis team fell short to Roger Williams University on Wednesday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the RWU Tennis Courts.

With the loss, Curry drops to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the CCC.

Curry had no answers for the hosts in doubles play, as the Hawks swept all three matches away from the Colonels. 

The Colonels won their lone match of the day at first singles as sophomore Alexandra Borkov (Newton, Mass.) stayed unbeaten on the season in singles, defeating her Roger Williams opponent by a score of 6-4, 6-1.

Roger Williams was victorious in singles positions two through six to secure the victory in the match. 

The Colonels will be back on the courts on Friday when they host Thomas College in a non-conference matchup with the Terriers. First serves in doubles play are slated for 3:30 p.m.
