Women's Tennis Edged 5-4 By TCCC Foe Colby-Sawyer

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College Women’s Tennis Team was edged 5-4 by visiting Colby-Sawyer in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) match on Wednesday afternoon in Milton. The Chargers improve to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play, while the Colonels drop to 3-3 overall and 1-3 in TCCC action.

The two teams split the six singles matches, with Curry picking up victories from freshman Megan Mulrooney (South Boston, MA) at #1, junior captain Kathleen Rush (Waterbury, CT) at #5 and sophomore Kate Johnson (Beverly, MA) at #6.

Colby-Sawyer won two of three doubles matches to clinch the win. The Colonels got their one doubles point at #3, where freshman Elizabeth Zarkades (Beverly, MA) and senior captain Lauren Maloney  (Feeding Hills, MA) teamed up to defeat Siobhan Masse and Carly LaCrosse, 8-1.

Curry returns to action this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. hosting Western New England College. Colby-Sawyer entertains Anna Maria at noon this Saturday.
