Women's Soccer Defeated by UMass Boston

BOSTON - Curry College was defeated 3-2 by UMass Boston in a non-conference collegiate women's soccer match Wednesday night at James Cotter Field.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 3-2-1 on the season.

Both Curry goals were scored in the second half of play, starting with Mia Schena (Nahant, Mass.), whose unassisted score in the 52nd minute of play put Curry on the board, trailing 3-1 to the home team.

Kiera Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.) cut the UMass Boston lead to one in the 80th minute of play, scoring off a pass from Jovi Goldstein (Bristol, R.I.) to achieve the game's final score of 3-2.

Lexi Smardon (Scotland, Conn.) and Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) split time in goal for the Colonels, combining for two saves.

The Colonels open up conference play with a road match against Wentworth on Saturday, September 21st, beginning at noon.
