MILTON, Mass. - Curry College defeated Fitchburg State 3-0 in a non-conference collegiate women's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field.

With today's victory, the Colonels improve to an overall record of 3-1-1 on the season.

Curry's first goal came in the form of a give-and-go between Maddie Resendes (Coventry, R.I.) and Kiera Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.). Resendes passed the ball to Lindmark between a pair of Fitchburg defenders, who then returned the favor, setting up Resendes with a wide-open shot halfway through the first quarter, giving the Colonels a 1-0 lead.

Jovi Goldstein (Bristol, R.I.) notched the next goal for Curry, scoring in the 46th minute of play after receiving the ball in front of the net off a pass from Lindmark.

With 39:54 remaining on the game clock, Sage Carmody (Southington, Conn.) crossed the ball in front of the net, finding Mia Schena (Nahant, Mass.) who completed the scoring play to put Curry on top 3-0.

Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making three saves in the win.

Curry College returns to action in a road match against UMass Boston on Wednesday, September 18th, beginning at 7 p.m.
