Women's Soccer Set for CCC First Round Showdown with Endicott

MILTON, Mass. - For the second consecutive season, the Curry College women's soccer team has qualified for the Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament, as the sixth-seeded Colonels will travel to third-seeded Endicott College for the CCC First Round on Saturday at 12 p.m.

Last Meeting
Just 10 days separate Saturday's First Round contest from Curry and Endicott's regular season meet. On October 18, the Gulls knocked off the Colonels 3-0 at Hempstead Stadium.

How They Got Here
Curry enters with an overall record of 4-6-7 on the season, and finished CCC play with a mark of 2-3-3. The Colonels ranked sixth in the CCC with nine points. Endicott went 10-4-4 overall and 4-0-4 in CCC action. The Gulls finished third with 16 points, three behind top-seeded Western New England.

Players to Watch
Curry senior Madison Frye (Abington, Mass.) leads Curry with six goals this season, with three goals in her last four games. Of Frye's six tallies this season, five have come in CCC competition. 

Sophomore Ella Morgan has served as Endicott's leading goal-scorer with five goals, while junior Grace Jewett leads the team in points with four goals and four assists for 12 points. 

Coming off a year that saw her named to the CCC Second Team All-Conference, senior Sydney Resendes (Coventry, R.I.) is Curry's second leading scorer this season with eight points, coming on three goals and two assists.

Senior Shannon Folan (Hudson, Mass.), sophomore Jovi Goldstein (Bristol, R.I.), and freshmen Abby Corcoran (Newington, Conn.) and Mia Schena (Nahant, Mass.) have all found the back of the net twice for the Colonels this season.

Junior Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) and sophomore Lexi Smardon (Scotland, Conn.) have split time between the pipes for Curry this season, with Correa playing 13 games and Smardon appearing in nine. Correa has compiled a record of 2-5-5 with a 1.30 goals against average and .778 save percentage. Smardon is 2-1-2 with a 0.80 goals against average and .853 save percentage.

Endicott is expected to start junior Rosalina Caliri, who has started all 18 games for the Gulls this season. She has a record of 10-4-4 on the season, with a 0.65 goals against average and .817 save percentage.
