FITCHBURG, Mass. - The Curry College women's soccer team blanked Fitchburg State University 3-0 in a non-conference contest Tuesday evening at Elliot Field.

With the victory, Curry improves to 3-4-4 overall on the season.

The Colonels got on the board right away on the evening, when reigning Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week Abby Corcoran (Newington, Conn.) netted her second goal of the season in the ninth minute. Corcoran received a feed from junior Kiera Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.), moved around a defender, and deposited a shot short-side to put the Colonels ahead 1-0.

In the 27th minutes, Lindmark put Curry on top by a pair on her first tally of the season. Classmate Brooke Sullivan (Berkley, Mass.) made a perfect cross into the box from the right wing, and Lindmark calmly headed home the goal to give the Colonels a two-goal lead.

An insurance marker from freshman Mia Schena (Nahant, Mass.) sealed the victory for the Colonels in the 72nd minute, giving the game its final score of 3-0.

Junior goalkeeper Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) stopped all nine shots she faced to earn her first shutout of the season.

Curry will return home on Friday evening for a CCC matchup against Gordon College. Kickoff from Walter M. Katz Field is slated for 6 p.m.
