Women's Soccer Drops Nichols

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's soccer team defeated Nichols College 1-0 Friday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the win, Curry improves to 7-4-1 overall on the season and jumps to 2-1-1 in CCC play.

The only goal of the contest came off the left foot of sophomore forward Kiera Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.) in the 34th minute. After receiving a through ball from junior Lexi LaPerle (Ledyard, Conn.), Lindmark chipped a shot over the goalkeeper's hands and into the far corner of the net for her fourth goal of the season.

Nichols poured on the pressure in the second half, outshooting Curry 9-1 and leading the corner count 3-1, but Curry sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) held strong. Four of Correa's five saves came in the contest's final 45 minutes to preserve the one-goal victory and the shutout.

Next up for the Colonels, they will continue CCC play with a road trip to Roger Williams University on Tuesday. Kick-off from Rhode Island is slated for 4 p.m.
