Colonels Defeat Leopards in CCC Action

BOSTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's soccer team continued Commonwealth Coast Conference action with a win Saturday afternoon over the Wentworth Leopards.

With the win, Curry improves to 6-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the CCC.

The Colonels struck first in the conference bout, senior defender Erica Blanch (Danvers, Mass.) blasting a shot into the top left corner to put Curry up 1-0 just 11:44 into play. Blanch was assisted by senior captain Samantha Borges (Somerset, Mass.).

Curry College would further their lead to 2-0 just over three minutes into the second half, sophomore midfielder Kiera Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.) finding the back of the net following a pass from Curry's Samantha Borges

The hosting Leopards would close in on the Colonels' lead just under ten minutes later, Lina Arlander finding the back of the net for her side.

The Colonels' defense would hold strong against any further successful attacks from the CCC opponent, closing out the match 2-1 in favor of Curry.

Curry's Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) marked six saves in the conference win on the road.

The Colonels return to the field Wednesday as they travel to face Wellesley in non-conference action slated to begin at 4 PM.
