BIDDEFORD, Maine - Curry College women's soccer sophomore defender Sydney Dewhurst (East Bridgewater, Mass.) was named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Conference Third Team on Friday morning.

Even as a defender, Dewhurst served as Curry's leading goal-scorer in 2021, notching five goals on the season. She was also tied for the team lead with 10 points, alongside senior Samantha Borges (Somerset, Mass.). Four of her five goals on the season served as game-winners, ranking third in the CCC.

In her first collegiate game against Rhode Island College on September 1, she found the back of the net twice to lift her team to a 4-1 win. She also netted game-winning goals against UMass Dartmouth, Mitchell, and Nichols on the season.

Dewhurst was Curry's lone selection to the CCC All-Conference teams.

Curry will open CCC Tournament play on Saturday when the Colonels travel to top-seeded Endicott for the Quarterfinals on Saturday. Kick-off is slated for 5 p.m.
