Women's Soccer Regular Season Finale Ends in Scoreless Stalemate

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's soccer team wrapped up its regular season on Wednesday evening with a 0-0 double overtime draw against Gordon College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the draw, Curry's regular season wraps up with a record of 8-9-1 and 2-6-1 in conference play.

The game was the make-up of last night's Senior Night contest, which was postponed due to rain. The Curry women's soccer program held its Senior Night ceremony after last night's postponement was announced, celebrating senior Samantha Borges (Somerset, Mass.) and Team IMPACT athlete Emily Gallo.

Curry netminder Stella Schofield (Marshfield, Mass.) was sharp in between the pipes for the hosts, making eight saves to earn her fifth shutout of the season.

The Colonels were outshot by a slim 13-11 margin in the contest, but led the overtime shot count 3-2. Sophomores Sydney Resendes (Coventry, R.I.) and Sydney Dewhurst (East Bridgewater, Mass.) led Curry with three shots apiece.

Curry now advances to the CCC Tournament, where they will be the eighth seed and travel to Endicott for the Quarterfinals on Saturday. Kickoff from Beverly is slated for 5 p.m.
