Women’s Soccer Bested by CCC Opponent Suffolk

EAST BOSTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's soccer team fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Suffolk University 1-0 Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Colonels drop to 2-6 in the conference and 8-9 overall this season. With the win, Suffolk improves to 4-4 in the conference and 10-5 overall.

The contest went scoreless in the first 45 minutes of play. The Colonels recorded six shots in the first half to Suffolk's eight.

Suffolk opened up scoring immediately in the second half. Just 30 seconds into the second, Rams freshman forward Lily Christian netted a strike facilitated by senior midfielder Carley Pearce. This goal by the Suffolk freshman forward would hold as the only score of the contest sealing the victory for the Rams 1-0. 

Curry forward Shannon Folan (Hudson, Mass.) tallied six shots, four of which were on net, leading her side. The Colonels were unable to respond to Suffolk's quick lead change at the start of the second half leading to their sixth loss in the CCC.

The Colonels return to Walter M. Katz Field Tuesday evening for a senior night celebration and more CCC action as they face Gordon College. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
