Women’s Soccer Holds Back Nichols College in CCC Action

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Curry College women's soccer team posted a clean sheet against conference opponent Nichols College Tuesday afternoon, winning 2-0. 

With this win, Curry improves to 2-5 in the conference and 8-8 overall on the season. With the loss, Nichols drops to 0-7 in the CCC and 4-10-1 overall.

Both sides went scoreless through the first half. Curry recorded 10 shots with seven on goal as Nichols' freshman goalkeeper recorded seven saves in the first 45 to keep the Bison in the game.

Curry's Sydney Dewhurst (East Bridgewater, Mass.) opened up scoring in the contest with a strike from inside the penalty box facilitated by a continued header by Julia Croft (Severn, Md.) originally delivered by a McKenna Reid (Irvine, Calif.) corner 15 minutes into the second half.

Colonel sophomore, Sydney Resendes (Coventry, R.I.) sealed the victory in the final minute of the contest netting a strike from the sideline off of a pass from McKenna Reid (Irvine, Calif.), her second assist on the day. With this goal, the Colonels completed today's conference action up 2-0.

The Colonels return to the pitch Saturday afternoon as they travel to Suffolk University for more Commonwealth Coast Conference action. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
