Women’s Soccer Stunned in CCC Action

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's soccer team was dropped by Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Roger Williams University 6-1 Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field. This marks the Colonel's second loss in conference play this season.

With this defeat, Curry drops to 0-2 in the conference and 3-5 overall this season.

Colonels sophomore Maddie Resendes (Coventry, R.I.) netted a strike with just over 20 minutes on the clock, closing the Hawks lead to one with three quarters of the game remaining. Even with this burst of momentum from Curry, the Hawks defenders were able to break up any further attacking attempts.

The Hawks attacking efforts were extremely successful, finding the back of the net six times with five goal scorers. Scorers for the Hawks included Leah Yucius (2), Bianca Robbins, Kelly Yadoff, Rachel Oster, and Sabrina Sherman. Oster and Yadoff also tallied an assist during their win over Curry.

The Colonels return to Walter M. Katz Field Sunday for a non-conference matchup against Mitchell College. Kick-off is set for 12 p.m.
