Women's Soccer Drops CCC Opener to Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Curry College women's soccer team conceded tallies on both sides of halftime on Saturday afternoon as they fell 2-0 to Endicott College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Hempstead Stadium.

With the loss, Curry drops to 3-3 on the season and 0-1 in CCC play.

Alexandra Dostie and Madeline Mucher scored the goals for Endicott in the 32nd and 70th minutes respectively to provide all the offense the hosts would need.

Freshman goalkeeper Stella Schofield (Mansfield, Mass.) was sharp in net for Curry making five saves, but was out-dueled by Endicott's Jacqueline Ruggiero, who recorded a five-save shutout.

Curry held a healthy edge in corner kicks in the defeat with a margin of 7-2. The Gulls narrowly outshot the Colonels by a count of 14-13. Curry was led by Abby Carew (Whitman, Mass.), with four shots and three on target.

Curry will return to the pitch on Thursday night for a non-conference matchup against Worcester State University at 7 p.m.
