Summer Spotlight - Maddie Wilson

Summer Spotlight - Maddie Wilson

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.

We continue the series with Maddie Wilson (Millbury, Mass.), a rising junior from our women's soccer program:

How did you get into your sport? I started playing soccer when I was about four years old. My passion and love for the game just stuck with me as I grew older. Now, I can't imagine not playing soccer. I'm very thankful for all the friendships and memories I've made because of this sport.

Why did you choose Curry? I chose Curry specifically for the nursing program, the small class sizes, and with it being close to home. Also being able to play soccer was just the cherry on top for me!

What hobbies do you have outside your sport? Other hobbies I enjoy are going to the beach, exploring with friends, and cooking!

Are you involved in other activities on the Curry campus? If so, explain. Currently I am not involved in any other programs, but I would be open to joining one.

What is your dream job? My dream job is to be a family practice nurse practitioner at one of the many big-name hospitals in Boston.

What is your greatest sports moment? My greatest sports moment that I've experienced at Curry is when I scored the first goal to put my team up 1-0 against Roger Williams University, which then led us to beating RWU for the first time in many years.

What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? My favorite activity to do with my teammates outside of soccer is our pregame singing in the locker room before games.

Interesting fact about yourself? An interesting fact about myself is I used to do ballet.

Three things on your "bucket list"? Three things on my bucket list would be: 1. To skydive, 2. Backpack Europe, and 3. Swim with sea turtles.

Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? My pregame ritual is I always have a PB & J on gamedays, and my team will sing the same song in the locker room before every game.
