Women's Soccer Falls Short at Regis
WESTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's soccer team dropped a 3-2 non-conference decision to Regis College on Sunday afternoon at Regis Stadium.

The Pride wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as junior Brianna Gaynor (Peabody, Mass.) found the back of the net just 20 seconds in to give Regis the early 1-0 lead.

The Colonels tallied the equalizer in the 14th minute on a finish from junior Tayla Randall (Walpole, Mass.) off a feed from freshman Madison Grafton (Abington, Mass.). Randall's marker was her team-leading sixth goal, which also places first in the conference.

Regis broke the tie in the 27th minute on a goal from sophomore Kaylee Francis (Millis, Mass.) to put the home squad up 2-1, a score that would hold until halftime.

Curry netted the game-tying goal 1:42 into the second half on an unassisted marker by freshman Jessica Gooch (Dracut, Mass.) off of a free kick for her second goal of the season.

Freshman Aria Ulmer (Henniker, N.H.) would score the eventual game-winner in the 61st minute as she settled a ball off a corner in the box and put a shot past Colonels' freshman goalkeeper Oliver Hutchinson (Scituate, Mass.).

Regis held a slight advantage in shots, 17-16 and held the edge in corners, 6-3.

Angie Caldwell notched two saves in net for the Pride in her first win on the season. Hutchinson finished with six saves for Curry.

Curry (2-4-0 overall) welcomes in Plymouth State University for its next contest on Tuesday, September 17 at 6:30 p.m. Regis (3-2-0 overall) remains home to host Rhode Island College on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
