Women's Soccer Notches Fifth Consecutive Win of the Season Defeating Clark, 3-1

Worcester, Mass. – Visiting Curry College erased a 1-0 halftime deficit with three unanswered second half goals and the Colonels improved to a perfect 5-0-0 with a 3-1 win over Clark University in non-league women's soccer action on Tuesday evening at the Granger Soccer Complex.

For the Cougars, meanwhile, they see their record slip to 2-3-1 and have now gone 1-2-1 in their last four games.

Curry, who had only surrendered a single goal in their first four games, found themselves behind for the first time this season when Alex Pariseau (Millbury, Mass.) notched her first collegiate goal in the 25th minute.

That would be all the scoring in the first half, but the Colonels would turn it up a notch almost immediately in the final 45 minutes. Kaitlyn Lima (New Bedford, Mass.) found herself on the Clark endline and fired a shot that curved around Cougar netminder.

Gabby Paolini (North Potomac, Md.) and into the upper left corner, evening the score at the 46:43 mark.

The Scarlet and White had an excellent chance to move ahead in the second half when Pariseau played a perfect ball to Haley Connors (Burrillville, R.I.), but her shot sailed left in the 57th minute.

Curry then took the lead in the 63rd minute when Korinna Tsonis (Dartmouth, Mass.) collected a loose ball at the top of box and blasted home her fourth goal of the season.

The visitors then tacked on an insurance goal in at 75:15 when a Scarlet and White turnover deep in their own territory led to a rocket off of the foot of Amanda Crisfulla (Raynham, Mass.).

Clark actually held a 16-7 edge in shots but in the end they could take advantage of that disparity.

Morgan Stott (Dartmouth, Mass.) made five saves in goal for the Colonels, while Paolini turned back three attempts in her 90 minutes.

The Cougars return to action Friday night as they open up NEWMAC play with a visit from Smith. Curry, meanwhile, hosts non-conference opponent Emmanuel College on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.  (Game Recap Courtesy of Clark Sports Information)
