Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated on the Season with a 4-0 Shutout at Johnson State

JOHNSON, Vt. -The Curry College women's soccer team scored three times in the first half en route to a 4-0 victory over Johnson State on Tuesday afternoon on Mineart Field. The Badgers slide to 3-2 overall while Curry advances to 4-0. 

Kaitlyn Lima ended the day with a hat trick and assist while Deanna McMahon chipped in a goal to help the Colonels' winning effort.

Lima broke open the first stanza finding the back of the net off of a cross from Abigail Sadlers to give the Colonels a 1-0 advantage in the 5th minute of play. Curry made quick work with the next two goals, scoring again at 14:23 and 15:24 with goals from Lima and McMahon respectively. The Badgers trailed 3-0 as the teams headed into the break.  

Johnson State picked up play in the second half but ultimately were unable to slip a ball past Curry goalkeeper Morgan Stott. In the 65th minute, Lima sealed the deal on the win for Curry after scoring on a direct kick opportunity. The Colonels outshot the Badgers 23-13.

Stott made eight saves in her shutout victory over the Badgers while senior goaltender Amber McCullock recorded 12 saves for Johnson State to fall to 3-2 for the season.

The Badgers return to action on September 13th, against Mitchell College for a 1:00pm game. Curry will host Roger Williams this weekend. (Game Recap Courtesy of Johnson State University)
