Women's Soccer Claims #7 Seed in TCCC Tournament

MILON, Mass. - Roger Williams University has claimed the top seed for The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) women’s soccer championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Saturday afternoon. 

The Hawks (14-4 overall) earned the top seed in the conference tournament after compiling a undefeated 13-0 record in TCCC play.  Roger Williams will host #8 seed Gordon College (10-7-1, 6-6-1) in a quarterfinal contest Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Other quarterfinal matchups slated for Saturday include #2 seed Endicott College (13-5-1, 11-2) hosting #7 seed Curry College (9-9, 7-6) at 1:00 p.m.  In addition, #3 seed Western New England College (12-7, 10-3) will host #6 seed Nichols College (12-5-1, 7-5-1) at 11:00 a.m., while #4 seed University of New England (11-6, 8-5) will host #5 seed Salve Regina University (10-8, 8-5) at 3:00 p.m.

Two ties in the conference standings were resolved using the first step of the TCCC tiebreaking procedures.  By virtue of victories in the teams’ regular-season matchups, University of New England earned the fourth seed over Salve Regina, and Gordon captured the eighth and final seed over Wentworth.

Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round which will be played on Tuesday, November 2 at the sites of the higher seed.  Matches are tentatively scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, November 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the site of the higher seed.
