Women’s Lacrosse Outlasts Gordon

WENHAM, Mass. - Curry College defeated Gordon 9-8 in a Conference of New England women's lacrosse game Wednesday afternoon at the Brigham Complex.

With the win, the Colonels' overall record improves to 4-9 and 1-4 in conference.

Grayson Goolgasian assisted on the Colonels' first two goals of the game, the first by Grace Grosso, the second by Natalie Keenan, leaving the score tied 2-2 at the end of one quarter. Goolgasian also assisted the first two goals of the second quarter, this time scored by Ava Doyle and Samantha Sprissler. Sprissler scored her second goal two minutes after her first to give Curry a 5-3 lead heading into halftime.

Grosso scored early in the third on a free position shot and later connected with Goolgasian, who scored her first goal with three minutes left in the third. Keenan and Doyle both scored their second goals of the contest in the fourth quarter (assists from Doyle and Grosso) to ensure victory for the Colonels.

Vivi Helquist played all 60 minutes in net for the Colonels, making 10 saves in the victory.

Curry College returns to action for Senior Day against Nichols on Saturday, April 12th, beginning at 11 a.m.
