Women’s Lacrosse Drops Season Opener Against Dean

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College opened up the 2025 season with a 14-8 loss to Dean College in a collegiate non-conference women's lacrosse game Wednesday evening at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the loss on Opening Day, the Colonels start with a 0-1 overall record.

The Colonels scored five times in the first half, starting with Nicole Michael who was assisted by Sarah Kelly to put the Colonels on the board with 6:22 remaining in the first quarter. Michael scored again four minutes later, this time with the assist coming from Samantha Sprissler, who herself scored with under thirty seconds remaining in the period, assisted by Casey Conneely.

The next three Curry goals belonged to Grace Grosso who earned the hat-trick with three straight scores on free position shots, her second of which was scored with 27 seconds left in the first half, sending the home to the break trailing 10-5. The Colonels scored twice more in the second half in addition to Grosso's third goal, the first coming from Kelly on a man-up opportunity and the second from Natalie Keenan with assists from Sprissler and Michael.

Zoe Ratcliffe and Alexa Puopolo split time in net for the Colonels, combining for seven saves throughout the contest.

Curry College returns to action on Saturday, March 1st, to host Emerson beginning at 11 a.m.
