Women's Lacrosse Stopped Short by Farmingdale State

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Curry College women's lacrosse team wrapped up its Spring Break trip on Thursday morning with a 13-4 loss to Farmingdale State at the Countryside Sports Complex.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 2-3 overall on the season.

A low-scoring first quarter ended with Farmingdale holding a narrow 2-1 advantage. Sophomore Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) scored Curry's lone tally of the period, an unassisted marker.

The second quarter was all Rams, as Farmingdale State outscored Curry 5-0 to take a 7-1 lead into halftime.

Goolgasian scored twice in the third quarter to complete her hat trick, but Farmingdale scored four times in the period to head to the fourth with a commanding 11-3 lead.

Junior Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) scored Curry's only goal of the fourth quarter. The tally was assisted by classmate Lexi LaPerle (Ledyard, Conn.).

Between the pipes, sophomore Vivi Helquist (Proctor, Minn.) turned aside five shots in the losing effort.

Next up for the Colonels, they will face Clark University at home next Wednesday. The contest is slated to get under way at 4 p.m.
