Colonels Down UMass Dartmouth in Overtime

DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Curry College Women's Lacrosse defeated non-conference opponent UMass Dartmouth in overtime on the road Friday afternoon.
With the win, Curry improves to 2-0 overall this season.
A goal from Curry freshman attacker Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) with five seconds remaining in the first overtime period, sealed the 12-11 road victory for the Colonels at Cressy Field.
The contest saw a back-and-forth battle between the two conference sides with the matchup tying six times through regulation.
Curry College saw the hosting Corsairs grab a 10-7 lead just five minutes into the fourth quarter, Melanny Sanchez Alvarez pushing her side to a three-goal lead.
With 7:33 remaining in the fourth, Curry's Ellie Hardman (Hanover, Mass.) netted a free position shot to close in on the Corsairs' lead. Under two minutes later, Grayson Goolgasian brought the UMass Dartmouth lead to just two on a goal assisted by Natalie Keenan (Haverhill, Mass.).
Curry continued to dominate in the fourth quarter, Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) tallying a goal assisted by Casey Conneely (Arlington, Mass.) to tie the contest at 10-10 with 5:31 remaining in regulation.
The Colonels would grab an 11-10 lead on another goal by Grayson Goolgasian with just 2:09 left on the clock. UMass Dartmouth's Maddie Wight forced the contest into overtime with a goal on a free position shot with 32 seconds remaining.
Goolgasian's shot past Corsairs senior goalie Peyton Conceicao in the first overtime period at Cressy Field sealed the non-conference win for the Colonels.
Goolgasian paced Curry's offense with four goals and seven ground balls.
Curry sophomore netminder Vivi Helquist (Proctor, Minn.) made four saves in the non-conference win on the road.
The Colonels get back out on the field Wednesday as they host Wellesley on Katz Field at 4 PM.
