Colonels Stopped by SCAD

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The Curry College Women's Lacrosse team was downed by non-conference opponent Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Thursday morning with a final score of 15-7.

With the loss on the road, the Colonels fall to 0-5 this season. With the non-conference win, SCAD improves to 6-2.

The Colonels netted the first goal of the morning, senior Maggie Murray (Marstons Mills, Mass.) giving her side the early lead. 

SCAD took a three-score lead with four unanswered goals from Haas, Verrier, Wilson, and Luff.

Curry freshman Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) found the back of the net with four minutes remaining in the half to bring the SCAD lead within two goals.

Seven SCAD goals to Curry's three in the third quarter granted the hosts a comfortable lead heading into the final quarter of play. Curry goals in the third quarter were scored by: Sharon Doherty (Easton, Mass.), Morgan Orr (Bozrah, Conn.), and Sabrina Santaniello (Marshfield, Mass.).

The Colonels netted two more in the fourth quarter but could not catch up to the lead gained by SCAD in the third quarter.

The SCAD Bees would take the contest by a final score of 15-7 in Hardeeville, S.C.

Curry was led by Sabrina Santaniello who found the back of the net on two occasions in the morning matchup. 

The Colonels get back out on the field Saturday as they travel to Buzzards Bay, Mass. to take on Mass. Maritime at 4 PM.
