MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Freshman attack Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) scored the go-ahead goal with 1:36 remaining and visiting Curry College women's lacrosse team hung on for a 17-16 victory over Salve Regina University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action.

Curry went on a 7-1 run in the second half to build a 16-13 lead, but the Seahawks answered with three straight, capped by a Kelly Ventura (Floral Park, N.Y.) goal at 2:20 remaining to knot things at 16-16.

The Colonels won the following draw control and capitalized quickly with the goal from Chevrier to retake the lead. The Seahawks could not gain possessions after the ensuing draw and Curry was able to play keep-away and run out the clock to secure their first victory of the season.

Salve Regina (1-3, 0-2 CCC) will travel to play Western New England on Thursday, April 15. Curry (1-3, 1-3 CCC) will travel to face the University of New England on Saturday, April 10.
