MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's lacrosse team suffered a 20-14 setback against Gordon College on Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field in league action.

Senior Katelyn Dyer (Plainfield, N.J.) finished with a game-high seven goals and an assist to pace the Fighting Scots. Senior Lena Larson (Fredricksburg, Va.) pitched in six goals. Junior Abigail Mansfield (Starksboro, Vt.) added five goals while senior Paige Blake (North Sutton, N.H.) and freshman Alexandra Abaunza (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) each had one goal apiece.

Senior Allie Wysocki (Agawam, Mass.) had four points on two goals and two assists. Senior Katie Parker (Branford, Conn.) added three goals and an assist while freshman Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) pitched in with a hat trick. Juniors Sabrina Santaniello (Marshfield, Mass.) and Sharon Doherty (North Easton, Mass.) each added two. Senior Taylor Gallagher (Rockland, Mass.) and freshman Ellie Hardman (Hanover, Mass.) also chipped in goals for the Colonels, who dropped to 0-3 on the season and 0-3 in conference play.

Curry jumped out to an early 1-0 lead behind a free position goal from Santaniello. The Fighting Scots came back with two straight, one from Dyer and the other from Abaunza. Chevrier followed just one minute later with an unassisted goal to knot the game at two with 21:49 remaining in the opening half. Back-to-back markers from Mansfield pushed the Gordon advantage to 4-2, which was quickly erased by goals from Chevrier and Wysocki. The Fighting Scots outscored the Colonels 8-3 over the remainder of the stanza to carry a 12-7 lead into the half.

Curry got to within four on two different occasions in the second half, which is as close as they would get in the final frame. Gordon would eventually go on for the six-goal victory, 20-14.

Senior Rebecca Resnick (Monroe, Conn.) played the majority of the contest in goal for Gordon and made four saves against 13 shots. Curry junior goalie Jessica Ginaitt (Warwick, R.I.) stopped 12 shots in the loss.

Curry (0-3 overall, 0-3 CCC) will next play at Salve Regina University on Wednesday, April 7 at 7:00 p.m. Gordon (3-3 overall, 2-1 CCC) returns to action at Wentworth on Thursday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m.
