Women's Ice Hockey Ties With Western New England

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Curry College women's ice hockey played the Western New England University to a 1-1 draw Thursday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Olympia Ice Center.

Curry ultimately won in the shootout, but the result will only come into play as a potential tiebreaker at the end of the season. The game officially goes into the NCAA and CCC books as a draw.

With the tie, Curry moves to an overall record of 2-3-2 and 0-1-2 in conference play.

The Colonels' only goal was scored by junior Emily Bisbee (Weymouth, Mass.), her first of the season, with 13:10 elapsed from the clock in the second period to give Curry a 1-0 lead. Assists were credited to junior Danielle Reid (Plainview, N.Y.) and sophomore Margot Oxman (Lower Merion, Pa.).

Graduate student Soleil Archambeault (London, Ontario) played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making 36 saves to preserve the tie for Curry, including three in overtime.

Next up for the Colonels, a rematch against Western New England at home on Saturday (11/18) beginning at 3 p.m.
