Women’s Basketball Overwhelmed by WNE

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 72-42 by Western New England University in a Conference of New England women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Colonels' overall record drops to 7-16 and their conference record falls to 4-12.

Grace Fleuriel dominated in the paint in the first half, scoring a pair of baskets while going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line to finish with eight of Curry's 17 points, a team-high heading into halftime.

Fleuriel led the Colonels with 13 points at the end of the contest while going 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Kylie McCarthy added 12 points and Sophie Hilbrunner led the team in rebounds with six.

Curry College returns to action on Wednesday, February 19th, in an away game at the University of New England beginning at 5:30 p.m.
