PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Curry College was defeated 67-50 by Johnson & Wales University in a non-conference collegiate women's basketball game Tuesday afternoon at the Wildcat Center.
With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 3-7 while remaining 0-3 in Conference of New England competition.
Curry established an early lead in the first, with a pair of made free throws from Brooke Kershow putting the visitors on top 10-9 heading into the second. The Wildcats took the lead late in the second, but a Lauren Morse three-pointer tied the game at 22-22 by the start of halftime. The JWU offense got hot in the second half, putting the game out of reach for the Colonels.
Morse led the squad with 11 points, going an impressive 3-for-4 from three-point range. Kylie McCarthy and Kasey Reeves both scored 10 each, with Reeves also grabbing seven rebounds.
Curry College returns to action on Saturday, January 4th, to host Nichols in a CNE matchup beginning at noon.
