Irwin Earns CCC Rookie of the Year Honors, Griffith Earns All-CCC Third Team Honors

Two Curry College women's basketball players were honored at the culmination of the regular season as senior Shannon Griffith made the All-CCC Third Team while freshman Emily Irwin took home rookie of the year honors.

Freshman Emily Irwin appeared in all 25 games, starting in 24 of them, leading the league in steals and ranking second-best in total assists in the conference. She led the Colonels with 10.8 points, 4.4 assists and 3.9 steals per game in her first season at Curry on her way to achieving Rookie of the Week honors four times this year.

Griffith started all 25 games and averaged 9.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. She is joined by Eastern Nazarene's Elia Salazar (Los Angeles, Calif.), Endicott's Hannah Shaw (Bar Harbor, Maine), Roger Williams's Katie Lowerre (Sharon, Mass.), and UNE's Olivia Shaw (Saco, Maine) on the Third team.
