Women's Basketball Picks Up 60-48 Non-Conference Win at Suffolk
BOSTON, Mass. - The Curry College Women's Basketball team topped the Suffolk University Rams, 60-48 on Monday evening at the Regan Gymnasium. Senior Carolyn Houston (Melrose, N.Y.) led all scorers with 17 points as the Colonels improve to a 3-1 mark on the season.

Curry led throughout the entire forty minutes of action as they took a seven point lead into the break at 38-31 shooting 46.7-percent as a team from the field in the opening half. Houston led the way as she scored 15 points in the first half on 5-for-7 shooting from the field.

Senior Jacqueline Vienneau (Salem, N.H.) and sophomore Iliana Quadri (Sudbury, Mass.) each scored 14 points for the Rams who fall to a 2-2 overall record.

Halfway through the second half the Rams were able to cut the deficit to three points at 46-43 when freshman Katie Murray (Holden, Mass.) sunk one of two free throws. A 15-4 Colonels run over the following eight minutes would seal the fate of Suffolk however as they only shot 19.4-percent from the field in the second half as a team.

Curry finished the game with three players recording double digits in points. Sophomore Kylie Beltz (Pequot Lakes, Minn.) scored 11 points and had a team-high nine rebounds, while sophomore Samantha Corcoran (Hampton, N.H.) chipped in with 10 points and seven boards.

Sophomore Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) had a monster game for the Rams on the glass as she recorded a career-high 16 rebounds in the game, while junior Jennifer Ruys (Wallingford, Conn.) scored 10 points for Suffolk.

Both teams will be back in action later this week. Curry will host Nichols College in Commonwealth Coast Conference action (CCC) on Wednesday at 5:30pm. Suffolk will host Framingham State on Thursday in non-conference action at the Regan Gymnasium at 7:00pm. (Game recap courtesy of Suffolk Sports Information)
