Four Softball Players Honored By CCC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference has announced its 2018 Softball All-Conference Teams and four Curry softball student-athletes were recognized. Freshmen Jordan Perzan (Burlington, Conn.) and Jocelyn Dimond (Weare, N.H.) were named to the Second Team while Kevi Oatway (East Hartford, Conn.) and Mikayla Lambert (Blackstone, Mass.) garnered Third Team honors. 

Perzan finished her regular season with 23 hits in 86 at-bats for a .267 batting average. She had three doubles and ranked tied for fifth in the conference in home runs with three. The freshman also had 12 runs batted in and 13 runs scored. Additionally, she tallied 35 total bases.

Dimond also earns Second Team accolades after the freshman saw action in all 34 games during regular season play, amassing a .284 batting average with 23 hits in 81 at-bats. The Weare, N.H. product also tallied three doubles and 26 total bases.

Oatway lands on the Third Team after playing in 33 regular season contests. The senior registered a .312 batting average with 29 hits in 93 at-bats. She put up three doubles, two home runs and a team-leading 17 runs batted in. Oatway concluded the regular season with 38 total bases, which led the team.

Lambert rounds out the Colonels' All-Conference Selections, joining Oatway on the Third Team. The senior concluded the regular season ranked first on the team in hits with 30 in 92 at-bats. She tallied three doubles and 12 runs batted in. In the circle, the Blackstone, Mass. native had a record of 6-9 with seven complete games. In 92.2 total innings, she recorded 67 strikeouts, walked 39 and had an earned run average of 2.34.

Curry has qualified for the CCC Tournament as the number six seed and hosts seventh-seeded Nichols for a play-in game set to begin on Friday at 2:00 p.m.
