Chicopee, MA - The Curry Men's Volleyball team felt the taste of defeat for the first time in program history on Friday, as they fell to Elms in four sets. The Colonels are now 2-1 on the season, while the Blazers are 2-2.
After dropping the first two sets by 25-16 and 25-18 margins, the Colonels fought back and won the third set 25-16. They would even jump out to an early lead in the fourth, but a 6-0 run by the Blazers late in the set would give them the opportunity to clinch the match, and they did with a 25-20 set win.
Chris Milfort recorded the first double-double in program history, as he led the team in both kills and digs with 10 each. His 10 kills came on 16 attacks, giving him an impressive .563 hitting percentage. Owen Hemmenway led the team with 13 set assists.
Up Next - The Colonels will head up to Elmira for a tournament next weekend, starting play with a match against Grove City on Friday.
