Men's Tennis Knocked Off 8-1 at CCC Rival Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team scored an 8-1 win over CCC opponent Curry on Wednesday afternoon to see their 2014-15 season record rise to 7-5 (3-1 CCC). The Gulls swept through doubles play and took five of six singles matches en route to the landslide win.

Gulls senior captains Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) and Justin Warshavsky (East Hartford, Conn.) led the Blue and Green to victory as Gandrup teamed up with junior Eric Pierce (Barrington, R.I.) to win #2 doubles 8-5 and earned a point on his own by taking down his #6 singles opponent in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Warshavsky and fellow senior Michael Lauretano (Winchester, Mass.) earned the first point of doubles action with an 8-0 triumph at the #3 spot.

Junior Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) and freshman Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) won their #2 doubles match 8-3 to help send Endicott into their singles slate with a 3-0 lead.

After Gandrup won #6 singles, Dolph went 6-0, 6-2 at #2 singles to earn Endicott's fifth point of the match. Freshman Sam Salvas (Stowe, Vt.) got a point for his 6-2, 6-2 victory at #5 singles and Lauretano handled his #3 singles opposition 6-1, 6-2 to make it 7-0 Endicott.

Playing in his first #1 singles match of the season, Pierce won 6-1, 6-1 to extend the Gulls lead up to 8-0. Curry would take the #4 singles flight to earn their lone point of the match.
