MILTON, Mass. - Roger Williams University has claimed the top seed for The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) men’s tennis championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Monday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. The Hawks (14-6 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming TCCC tournament after posting a perfect 11-0 record in conference play.
RWU will host eighth-seeded Curry College (7-10 overall, 5-6 TCCC) in Bristol, R.I. Roger Williams claimed a 7-2 victory in the teams’ regular-season matchup on March 24.
In other quarterfinal-round action, Nichols College (15-5, 10-1) will be the second seed and will host seventh-seeded Wentworth (6-7, 6-5) in Dudley, Mass. Nichols was a 7-2 winner when the teams met on April 7.
Third-seeded Salve Regina University (10-10, 8-3) will host sixth-seeded Endicott College (9-8, 6-5) in Newport, R.I. Salve Regina captured a 7-2 decision in the teams’ meeting on April 15.
Fourth-seeded Colby-Sawyer College (9-10, 7-4) will host fifth-seeded Western New England College (9-8, 7-4) in New London, N.H. The Chargers picked up an 8-1 triumph in the teams’ April 24 matchup.
Quarterfinal winners will meet in semifinal-round action on Wednesday, April 28 at 3:00 p.m. The higher seed will host each match.
Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, May 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the site of the highest-remaining seed.
