Men's Tennis Takes Care of Johnson & Wales 8-1 in Non-Conference Action

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College defeated visiting Johnson & Wales, 8-1, in non-conference men’s tennis action Monday afternoon in Milton. The Colonels improved to 6-6 on the season, while the Wildcats fell to 2-6.

Curry got singles wins from freshman Gregory Kirschner (Williston Park, NY) at #1, senior Brian Leahy (Reading, MA) at #3, junior Tyler Dulmage (Woodstock, VT) at #4, junior J.D. Moyer (Cape Elizabeth, ME) at #5 and senior Ben Radzicki (Sterling, MA) at #6. Johnson & Wales earned its only point of the match at #2 singles, where freshman Tucker Plimpton (Exeter, NH) defeated junior Charlie Edlund (Hanover, MA) in straight sets.

In doubles, Leahy and Kirschner defeated senior Devin Kitterick (Bridgewater, MA) and Plimpton, 9-7, at #1; Radzicki and Edlund took care of freshman John Horton (Kingston, NY) and junior John Sepowitz (Oakdale, CT), 8-4, at #2; and Dulmage and Moyer knocked off freshman Todd Zimmerman (Whitehall, PA) and sophomore Taylor Horn-Speck (McAlister, OK), 8-4, at #3.

Curry returns to action on April 13 with a 3:00 p.m. home match against Colby-Sawyer College. Johnson & Wales travels to UMass Boston on the same day for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
