
WENHAM, Mass. - Curry College defeated Gordon 10-6 in a Conference of New England men's lacrosse game Wednesday afternoon at the Brigham Complex.
The Colonels pick up their first win of the season, improving to an overall record of 1-12 and 1-3 in conference.
Nicholas Cole scored the Colonels' only goal in the first, an unassisted score with two minutes remaining in the quarter. Back-to-back goals from Brody Dalzell and Jed Cappuccino gave Curry their first lead of the game, while an unassisted goal by Mac Kline with eight seconds left in the half sent the Colonels to the locker room trailing 5-4.
The second half was all Curry, with the visitors scoring six straight goals to close out the game. Cappuccino scored his second goal to kick off the run early in the third, followed by Sebastian Reid six minutes later. Kline scored twice in a row in the final three minutes of the quarter to earn the hat-trick. Dalzell and Kline scored two more insurance goals in the final quarter to put Curry on top 10-6.
Niko DeCola played all 60 minutes in net for the Colonels, making 10 saves in the victory.
Curry College returns to action against Nichols on Saturday, April 12th, beginning at 2 p.m.
