
HENNIKER, N.H. - Curry College was defeated 12-9 by New England College in a non-conference collegiate men's lacrosse game Thursday afternoon at Don Melander Field
With the loss, the Colonels' overall record drops to 0-3 on the season..
Curry got off to a promising start, with a Jack Canto goal giving the visitors a 1-0 lead under two minutes into the contest. Mac Kline received a pass from Nicholas Cole and scored to increase the Curry lead to two goals just over one minute later.
After New England tied the game at 2-2, Brody Dalzell scored the next three Curry goals within one minute and six seconds of each other to extend the Colonels' lead to 5-3 with 9:29 remaining in the second quarter. On his way to the quick hat-trick, he was helped along with assists by Jack McCarthy, Jed Cappuccino, and Kline.
The second half saw a comeback as the Pilgrims outscored Curry by a margin of 8-4 to overtake the visitors and steal the game from the Colonels. Cappuccino and Kyle Bouley scored unassisted goals in the third while the fourth quarter saw another pair of unassisted goals, this time by Cappuccino and Kline.
Curry College returns to action on Sunday, March 2nd, to host Eastern Connecticut in a non-conference matchup at Katz Field beginning at noon.
