Men’s Lacrosse Falls Short Against Dean

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 16-9 by Dean College in a non-conference collegiate men's lacrosse game Tuesday evening at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the loss, the Colonels overall record drops to 0-2 on the young season.

After going down 7-0 to start the game, Mac Kline scored an unassisted goal with 8 minutes left in the second quarter, jumpstarting a 5-0 scoring run for the Colonels. Kline and Nicholas Cole both scored twice with Jed Cappuccino adding one goal to send the Colonels to the locker room trailing 7-5. Cole and Sebastian Reid were credited with one assist on two of the Curry goals.

Both offenses exploded in the third quarter with a combined 10 goals between the two teams. Ryan McGillivray opened up scoring in the half for the Colonels, followed by a pair of back-to-back goals from Sam Melia and Matt Pfister to leave Curry trailing 9-8 with 11:48 remaining in the third quarter. Two and a half minutes later Brody Dalzell joined the list of goal scorers and gave the home team its final of nine.

CJ Veader played the entire game in goal for the Colonels, making 11 saves throughout the contest.

Curry College returns to action on Sunday, March 2nd, to host Eastern Connecticut in a non-conference matchup at Katz Field beginning at noon.
