Towson, MD - The Curry Men's Lacrosse team fell to the Goucher Gophers on Tuesday by a score of 8-7. The Colonels are now 2-6 on the season while the Gophers are 5-2.
The Colonels came out firing, scoring the first three goals of the game within the first six minutes. A pair of Dom Cerone goals sandwiched a Pat Modoono goal. Goucher would score the next two, but an Anthony Lewis goal with 90 seconds remaining in the quarter put the Colonels up 4-2. Another Cerone goal opened up the second quarter scoring, this time being assisted by Modoono. After a Gophers score made it 5-3, the Colonels again extended their lead back out to three on an Albie DiBella goal assisted by Mac Kline. But two goals in the final three minutes of the half made it 6-5 Curry at the half. It was a low scoring second half, with each team only scoring once in the third, with Curry's goal coming from Connor Bryant. But the Gophers would score two unanswered goals in the fourth to win 8-7.
Sean young led the team with five ground balls, while Will Karszes, Ryan McGillivray, Joey Pinto, and Kyle Bouley each had a caused turnover. Zac Robinson went 9-16 on faceoffs. Liam O'Neill made 10 saves in net.
