WORCESTER, Mass. - The Curry College men's lacrosse team dropped an 11-8 decision to Clark University Saturday afternoon in its non-conference finale at Granger Field.
With the defeat, Curry drops to 4-11 overall on the season.
The Cougars doubled up Curry in the opening quarter to take a 4-2 lead into the second. Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.) and Pat Modoono (Billerica, Mass.) scored Curry's first quarter goals.
In the second, the Colonels outpaced the hosts by a margin of 2-1 to trail by just a goal headed to halftime. Dalzell netted both Curry markers in the first 2:37 of the quarter to finish off his hat trick.
Each team scored three times in the third quarter to go to the fourth separated by just one. Curry senior Dom Cerone (Hanover, Mass.) scored a pair of goals in the quarter, followed by a late marker from junior Anthony Lewis (Middletown, R.I.).
Clark took over in the fourth quarter, outscoring Curry 3-1 to seal the 11-8 victory. Curry's lone goal in the quarter came from junior Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.).
In net, Curry junior Austin Brown (Scarborough, Maine) took the loss, making six saves on 12 shots on goal in the second half. Freshman Niko DeCola (Weymouth, Mass.) patrolled the crease in the first half, making eight saves on 13 shots.
Next up for the Colonels, they will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday evening on the road at Wentworth. Faceoff is slated for 7 p.m.
