MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's lacrosse team fell 20-10 to Roger Williams University Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.
With the defeat, Curry falls to 4-6 overall on the season and 1-2 in the CCC.
The teams traded the first four goals of the game in the opening seven and a half minutes of the contest, with seniors Nick Perfetuo (Norwell, Mass.) and Dom Cerone (Hanover, Mass.) contributing the Curry goals.
Roger Williams responded with the final 12 goals of the first half to take a commanding 14-2 lead into the break.
The Colonels outscored the Hawks 4-3 in the third quarter to cut the deficit to 17-6. Cerone and sophomore Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.) each scored a pair of goals for the Colonels in the period.
Curry again held a 4-3 edge in the fourth to give the game a final score of 20-10. Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.), Mac Kline (Essex, Conn.), Zach Weinstein (Davie, Fla.), and Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) netted Curry's fourth quarter tallies.
Curry netminder Austin Brown (Scarborough, Maine) made a pair of saves in the opening quarter and took the defeat in 15 minutes of action. Rookie Niko DeCola (Weymouth, Mass.) looked sharp in 30 minutes in relief, taking seven second half saves.
Next up for the Colonels, they will hit the road for a CCC contest against Western New England on Tuesday. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
