Men's Lacrosse Stopped Short by UNE
The Curry College men's lacrosse team fell to the University of New England by a final score of 12-8 Wednesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference at Blue Bolt Field.

BIDDEFORD, Maine - The Curry College men's lacrosse team fell to the University of New England by a final score of 12-8 Wednesday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference at Blue Bolt Field.
With the defeat, Curry drops to 4-5 overall on the season and suffers its first CCC loss of the season, falling to 1-1.
Both teams scored once in the first quarter to head to the second knotted at 1-1. Junior Pat Modoono (Billerica, Mass.) scored the lone goal for the Colonels.
The second quarter was all Nor'easters, as UNE outscored Curry 5-0 in the period to take a 6-1 lead into halftime.
Juniors Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.) each scored in the third quarter for the Colonels, but UNE scored three times to take a commanding 9-3 lead into the fourth.
Curry's offense came to life in the final frame, but the Colonels could not complete the comeback. Bryant scored the quarter's first two goals to complete the hat trick, followed by markers from sophomore Mac Kline (Essex, Conn.), senior Dom Cerone (Hanover, Mass.), and Stackhouse.
Junior Austin Brown (Scarborough, Maine) was dealt the loss between the pipes for the Colonels despite making 12 saves.
Next up for the Colonels, they will continue CCC play with a contest against Roger Williams at home on Saturday. Faceoff is slated for 12 p.m.
